Hello gamers! This is Ando Poore, President/Founder of AndoCon.This is not an easy announcement to make. I’ve agonized over it for a while now, but it just needs to be said.
AndoCon is going on hiatus. Let me be quick to assure you, AndoCon still exists. We are not shutting down, just taking a break.
The reason behind this comes back to me – my life has taken some very unexpected turns, and I basically need to remove some things from my plate for my mental health while I adjust. AndoCon deserves more love and attention than I am capable of giving it right now. But that is also the reason it is not a permanent shut-down. I just need to take some time off to get things in order, and then we will be back and better than ever!
There will not be an AndoCon 2017, and I am stepping back from our weekly and monthly meetup events. Those gamers who have gotten used to meeting Wednesday nights at Bub-ba-Q in Woodstock, or the third Saturday of each month at Raven’s Nest in Marietta, will probably continue to meet and play games, and I encourage that. However, my own personal attendance will be more sporadic during this hiatus.
I have received many offers of assistance, be it as simple as advice or as intense as offering to run the show while I’m taking care of myself. I appreciate every last one of you who cares enough about the convention and the community to want to help, and the offers mean a lot to me. At this point, I would prefer you simply keep the dream alive and don’t forget about us. As I mentioned earlier, AndoCon still exists and we will be back in the public eye.
Thank you all for being an amazing and caring community of gamers. If you have any questions, feel free to E-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am Ando, and so can you!
